Local Churches

RUF wants you involved in a local church!

At RUF we encourage every student to get involved with a church near campus. We know, you probably have a home church that you love and you wish all churches could be like it...but you should give others a try. There are many great churches in the Macon/Warner Robins area. We pray that students will find one that faithfully teaches the Word of God and blesses them during the college years.  Below are five of them that support the ministry of RUF.

First Presbyterian Church of Macon

First Presbyterian Church is located in downtown Macon. From Mercer, take College Street to Georgia Avenue (next to the big Post Office). Turn right on Georgia Ave and go down the hill past Mercer Law school. FPC will be on your right once you get to downtown at the corner of First Street.  Buck's Office is at FPC. Come by and see him anytime.

Grace Community Church

Grace Community Church meets at Joshua Cup on Sunday mornings. If you don't know where Joshua Cup is, you must not be a Mercer student.

Houston Lake Presbyterian Church

Houston Lake Pres is located about 20 minutes away in Warner Robins, GA.  The pastor of Houston Lake is Rev. Paul Bankson, former RUF campus pastor at Mercer.  The worship here is very similar to RUF on Wednesday nights!  To get to HLPC, take I-75 south to exit 146 (Centerville / Wanrer Robins).  Take a left across the bridge towards Warner Robins on Watson Blvd (Hwy 247).  After about 2 miles, turn right on Margie Drive.  Take the next right onto Osegian Blvd.  Take the next left onto Tommy Stalnaker Dr.  The church is located on the left, 110B Tommy Stalnaker Drive.

Worship at 10:30 am.

North Macon Presbyterian Church

North Macon Presbyterian Church is located about 10 minutes north of the campus.  Take I-75 north to exit 171. Turn left on Bass Road and go about 2 miles (or so) to Rivoli Drive. Turn right on Rivoli and the church will be on your right.

Redeemer Baptist Church

Redeemer Baptist is a reformed and evangelical body of believers holding to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.  They presently meeting at Covenant Academy on Ayers Road in Macon, GA.  Directions can be found HERE.

Worship at 10:45 am and at 6:00 pm except on the third Sunday of each month on which we have fellowship lunch and no evening service.

Strong Tower Fellowship

Strong Tower Fellowship is a new mission church in Macon.  It has special commitment to being a multi-ethnic church.  It is located in midtown. Cross I-75 next to Fountain Carwash and continue up Vineville Avenue for about half a mile. It will be on your right about 1 block after Vineville Methodist Church.
